National Assembly (Chad)

The National Assembly of Chad ( Assemblée nationale ) is the lower house in the bicameral system from Chad.

In the National Assembly, 188 members are elected every four years. It is located in the capital, N'Djamena. Are entitled to vote citizen over 18 years. Candidates must be at least 25 years old.

The last elections were held on 13 and 20 February and on 6 May 2011. The winner was the ruling party Patriotic Welfare Movement ( Mouvement patriotique du Salut, MPS), which received 117 seats. The second strongest party was the National Union (National Union pour la démocratie et le renouveau, UNDR ) for democracy and renewal with 11 seats.

President of the Parliament was the former Prime Minister Haroun Kabadi.
