National Assembly (Laos)

The National Assembly (Lao: ສະ ພາ ແຫ່ງ ຊາດ, Sapha Heng Xat, French Assemblée Nationale) is the unicameral Parliament of Laos.

A deputy represents this 50,000 people every five years is chosen. The Parliament is located in the capital Vientiane. Ruling party is the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, the only legal political party in the country.

The last elections were held on 30 April 2006. The current Parliament is composed of 115 deputies; Parliament Speaker is Thongsing Thammavong. See also: List of members of the Lao National Assembly (6th parliamentary term ).
