The most successful in this category were the Briton Emma Thompson and Norwegian Liv Ullmann, who won the award on three occasions. 21 times succeeded Film Critics Association to present pre- Oscar winner. From 1991 to 2009, the winner of the NBR Awards nineteen times has been nominated in a row at that category for the most important film prize in the world and won him, as the last in 2006 the British Helen Mirren ( The Queen).
