National Democratic Front (Mexico)

The Frente Democrático Nacional ( FDN; German: National Democratic Front ) was a left political coalition to the Mexican presidential election 1988 in Mexico, which ultimately

  • The Partido de la Revolucion Mexicana Auténtico ( PARM ),
  • The Partido del Frente Card Paulista de Reconstrucción Nacional ( PFCRN ) and
  • The Partido Mexicano Socialista (PMS )

Merged. The main reason for the merger was in 1987, the elimination of the so-called Corriente Democrática (German: Democratic flow ) of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI ), who was dissatisfied with the neoliberal policies of the PRI candidate Carlos Salinas de Gortari.

Common candidate Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Solórzano was the FDN. From the FDN went 1989 to find the Partido de la Revolución Democrática ( PRD).
