National emblem of Oman

The coat of arms of the Sultanate of Oman consists of a Handschar ( Arabic curved dagger ) in a sheath, superimposed by two crossed curved swords. This is the traditional symbol of the ruling in Oman since 1746 Said dynasty. It is found on many flags, including on the naval jack of the national flag and the center of the Sultan standard, since 1940 on the currency since 1966 on stamps, as well as the aircraft of the Omani Air Force and in other places. The coat of arms is likewise reflected in Oman as a piece of jewelry necklaces.
