National Geographic Channel

National Geographic Channel is a German- themed channels, which mainly broadcasts documentaries from the natural sciences.

The company National Geographic Channel International, which also hosts the German program, part of the international media conglomerate News Corporation Rupert Murdoch, the U.S. media company NBC, as well as the members of the National Geographic Society National Geographic Television & Film.

First broadcast by National Geographic Channel in Germany was on 1 November 2004. Additionally, the spin-off NAT GEO WILD will be sent to the pay- TV platform Sky Germany. The first station of National Geographic were already in September 1997 in Europe and Australia on the air.

The program is available in 153 countries and 27 languages.

Reception

National Geographic Channel is part of the program packages of the major cable operator Kabel Germany, Unity Media and Kabel BW. In addition, the transmitter can be received in Germany on Sky via cable and satellite.

In Austria, the transmitter of UPC Austria and A1 Telekom Austria is fed. In addition, you can program nationwide received via Sky by cable and satellite.

In Switzerland, the station will be distributed by the cable operator UPC Cablecom. The pay- TV provider Tele Club transfers the program via IPTV.

National Geographic Channel HD

Since July 4, 2009, there is on the pay TV platform Sky Germany a German HD version of the National Geographic Channel. According sender information would be shown exclusively true HDTV programs and not upscaled broadcasts. Meanwhile, the program is identical to the SD version of the channel.

Nat Geo Wild HD
