The National Ice Centre in Konzernten and other events Trent FM Arena, is a multi-purpose arena in Nottingham, United Kingdom. The arena serves both as a hockey stadium and concert hall. The concert hall is named since 2008 after the local radio station, having previously simply Nottingham Arena said.

History

The National Ice Centre was opened after two years of construction in 2000. It replaced the Nottingham Ice Stadium, built in 1939, which was demolished in the same year. Primary user of the Ice Centre, the Nottingham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League, which discharge their home games since its opening in Ice Centre.

Other sporting events that take place in the arena, include boxing matches. On 17 October 2009, the battle took place at super middleweight between the American Andre Dirrell and Carl Froch was born in Nottingham.

Among the many bands and musicians who appeared in the Trent FM Arena, include Iron Maiden, Muse, Beyonce, Westlife, Metallica, Tool, Girls Aloud, Queen Paul Rodgers, Kings of Leon, The Killers and Kaiser Chiefs.
