National Inventors Hall of Fame

The National Inventors Hall of Fame ( German National Hall of Fame as the inventor ) is an organization that honors important inventors from the U.S. and from other countries. It has a museum in Akron ( Ohio) and an annual installation ceremony.

It is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1973 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the National Council of Intellectual Property Law Association.

Until 2007 371 persons were honored as members. They are listed in the list of members of the National Inventors Hall of Fame.

To be eligible, the person must be a U.S. patent and keep their invention should have contributed to the progress of science and craft or industry, and to the prosperity of the nation.
