National Language Services

The National Language Service (NLS ) is a public institution in South Africa that supports communication between the individual languages ​​and promotes. Pursuant to the requirements of the South African Constitution, the MCB manages the linguistic diversity of South African society. He is responsible for implementing policy measures to promote the various languages, including historically neglected languages. Its main task is to offer translation and proofreading in all official languages ​​of South Africa and to promote and preserve linguistic diversity through language planning and terminology projects.

The MCB acts as a professional service of the Government in the official translation of documents. The terminology service supports the development and modernization of the technical vocabulary of the official languages ​​. The language planning tasks include advising the government on the development of language policy and its implementation.
