National Library of Ireland

The Irish National Library (English National Library of Ireland, Irish Leabharlann Náisiúnta na hÉireann ) is the National Library of Ireland in Dublin. The competent governmental authority is the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The library is a reference library, the media may be used only in the premises of the library. It has a large number of Irish and Ireland -related material, which can be viewed for free, this includes books, maps, manuscripts, music, newspapers, magazines and photographs. The library includes material which has been published by private as well as government- printed documents.

Attached to the library is known as the Chief Herald of Ireland and the National Photographic Archive. The library maintains exhibitions and archives all newspapers in Ireland. But it is also a number of other services such as family history research.
