National M. K. ÄŒiurlionis School of Art

The National Mikalojus - Konstantinas - Čiurlionis Art School ( lit. Nacionalinė Mikalojaus Konstantino Čiurlionio MENU mokykla ) is an art school in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was founded in 1945. It is named since 1965 after the famous Lithuanian painter and composer Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis ( 1875-1911 ). It is the only music school in Lithuania with the entire 12-year learning cycle. After the twelfth grade and the final exam (Abitur ), students receive a high school diploma. Learning is free for Lithuanian students, but not for foreigners. Gifted six to seven year old children are allowed to enter the school if their grades meet certain criteria. The school also organizes training courses and seminars for students studying abroad.
