National Movement (Luxembourg)

The National Bewegong ( German National Movement, French Mouvement national ), short- NB, was a far-right political party in Luxembourg.

On 5 May 1987, the members Patrick Birchem, Marc Peffer and Pierre Peters in Tétange founded the Gréng national movement. The party but could not be rename later, which she called herself from that day National Bewegong. The party took its favor with the awareness in the general elections in 1989 under the leadership of the activist Pierre Peters. At European level, the party won 2.9 % of all valid votes cast. Also in the municipal elections the party got only 1506 votes, which was not enough for a seat.

Then the party went again on 12 June 1994 parliamentary elections. At this time it came in Luxembourg more than ever to daily clashes with protesters. They even suspected that the party could get a seat in parliament. The party was one of the last 1,300 members and did not start in the parliamentary elections in 1999. The party also launched a petition with the slogan " petition fir europäesch identiteit " (Eng. "Petition for European identity "). Even saying things like " Ech si ze proud Lëtzebuerger sin " (Eng. "I am proud to be a Luxembourg" ) or " de Luxemburg Lëtzebuerger " (Eng. " the Luxembourg Luxembourg " ) denounced their ideology in the population.
