National Museum of Australia

The National Museum of Australia ( Australian National German Museum ) is a museum in the Australian capital Canberra. It was opened in March 2001 and shows virtually every aspect of the lives of Australians and their culture. The collection ranges from prehistory through the Aboriginal culture to European colonization and also takes a look into the future. The museum is located near the Australian National University on the Acton Peninsula in Lake Burley Griffin. The Royal Canberra Hospital was located at this site before; this hospital was demolished in June 1997. Architecture

Designed by Howard Raggatt postmodern building is reminiscent in shape to linked ropes that connect the residents of Australia together.
