National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo

The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (in Japanese东京 国立 近代 美术馆, Tōkyō kokuritsu kindai Bijutsukan ); internationally also MOMAT, National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo is a 1952 Art Museum opened in Tokyo's Chiyoda ward.

The collection ranges from works of the Meiji period to contemporary art.

1967 the museum moved into a new building by the architect Yoshiro Taniguchi. The old building was umgabaut and houses the National Film Center. In the vicinity there is also opened in 1977, the Department of Arts and Crafts, which uses the old building of the palace guard.

The adjacent building houses the National Archives.
