National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949

The National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 is a British Act of 18 March 1949 which provided, among other things, the creation of national parks and cried with the National Parks Commission, an organization launched that could watch over nature conservation in the UK.

According to the Act, the UK created in the 1950's ten national parks, later followed by other national parks in the UK. The National Parks Commission created in the following years on the basis of the law as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, land areas with similar meaning as National Park but less direct protection and influence of nature conservation.
