National Rally for Democracy (Algeria)

The National Democratic collection (Arabic التجمع الوطني الديمقراطي at- Tadschammu ʿ al - Watani al- Dīmuqrāṭī, French Rassemblement National Démocratique, RND) is a political party in Algeria. It is the country's prime minister, Ahmed Ouyahia, guided and governed currently in a coalition with the National Liberation Front.

The National Rally for Democracy was founded on 21 February 1997. She held her second Congress of 15 from until May 17, 2003.

In the 2002 parliamentary elections, the National Democratic collection received 9.5% of the vote and won 47 of the 380 seats in the National People's Assembly. This was a bitter defeat for the party because it previously held 156 seats. In the parliamentary elections of 2007, the party won 10.3% of the vote and won again 61 of the 389 seats in parliament.

The National Democratic collection is loyal to current President of Algeria, Abdelaziz Bouteflika. She's coalition partners within an alliance of three parties, the so-called " government Presidential Alliance", which was created in 2005 and also the former single party, the National Liberation Front and the Muslim Brotherhood related party Movement for Peace ( formerly Hamas) includes.

The Secretary-General of the National Democratic Rally Party, Ahmed Ouyahia, was appointed on June 23, 2008 Prime Minister.
