National Semiconductor SC/MP

The SC / MP was supported by the National Semiconductor Corporation, Santa Clara, CA / USA ( www.national.com ) mid-1970s manufactured microprocessors as one of the first commercial 8 -bit architecture and marketed successfully. The processor name SC / MP (pronounced " Skemp " English nickname " Scamp " ) is an acronym and stands for " Simple Cost-effective Microprocessor ".

Single-board computer

One of the first DIY computer was from Elektor -Verlag in June 1977 (G 3078EX ) on the basis of the SC / MP (initially type I, but fast Type II) published. Another kit was brought by the electronics manufacturer, and study material provider Christiani publisher of Constance as SC / MP computer teaching in 1978 to the market. On the basis of the type III a further teaching computer kit from Philips was still 1983, and later brought Schuco on the market.
