The National Stadium (English National Stadium ) in Freetown is the only sports stadium used internationally Sierra Leone. It is primarily used for football matches, but also for athletics events. The complex also includes tennis courts and swimming pools.

Originally built in 1979 by a Chinese construction company, there was a major overhaul of this in 2004 and got its new name. Until then, under the name was " Siaka Stevens Stadium".

Problems

On 26 March 2008, FIFA has the national stadium of Sierra Leone disabled until further notice. All international games (including qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2010) must take place in a neutral stadium of a neighboring country. On 26 May 2008, the National Stadium by FIFA was re- admitted.
