Natsuki Sumeragi

Natsuki Sumeragi (皇 名 月jap, Sumeragi Natsuki, also:皇 なつき; born August 21, 1967 in Osaka Prefecture, Japan ) is a Japanese mangaka and illustrator.

Biography

She studied Japanese literature at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto.

First published Sumeragi in 1990 when short story Hebihime Goths appeared in a special issue of the manga magazine Asuka. There were other short comics and some issues for this magazine. Kadokawa Shoten, the publisher brought out in the following years, several anthologies, including Hana no Koe and Richo Angyōki. In these stories she devoted herself to Chinese and Korean history, but represents less tension in the foreground, but rather it seeks to " cultural atmosphere of China."

In their published from 1995 to 1997, until today only zweibändigem factory Beijing Reijin Sho she tells young people in the midst of the unrest of the 1920s in China. As the scene here is the Beijing opera.

Since the 2000s, Sumeragi is also dedicated to current topics. With Kuroneko no Sankaku she sat 2002 novel by Hiroshi Mori order. In the magazine Comic Blade Masamune brought them together in 2005 with Nobuhiko Tenkawa the shōnen manga Archaic Chain out.

With the known scenarist Kazuo Koike created since 2006 for the magazine Jin the series Genji Yume Tsurugi no Saimon.

Sumeragi is valued for its character style, which manages almost completely without screen tones and shadow areas and highlights by hatching. In addition to drawing comics it contributes also drew illustrations for novels and designed characters for video games. Asuka Shinsha in 2005 appeared an artbook from her pen.

Her work is translated into French and German.
