Natty Dominique

Anatie " Natty " Dominique ( born August 2, 1896 in New Orleans, Louisiana; † August 30, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois ) was an American jazz trumpeter of New Orleans jazz. He played with Johnny Dodds.

Natty Dominique was a student of the legendary Manuel Perez, with whom he played in New Orleans. In 1913 he moved to Chicago, where he played with Jimmie Noone, Carroll Dickerson and from 1925 mainly with Johnny Dodds, as in the titles Bullfiddle Blues, Weary City and Bucktown Stomp (1929 ) to hear. He also worked with Jelly Roll Morton (1923). In the 1940s, Dominique was inactive for several years as a musician and worked at the Chicago airport. From the late 1940s, in the wake of the Dixieland revival, he came back with his Creole Dance Band, the Johnny's younger brother Baby Dodds participated. He remained active until the 1960s, and in 1954 he became the album Natty Dominique and His New Orleans Hot Six on.

Natty Dominique is the uncle of the trumpeter and bandleader Don Albert (actually Albert Dominique ).
