Naunhof

Naunhof is a town in the district of Leipzig Saxony and is located on the southeastern outskirts of Leipzig. It forms together with the communities Belgershain and Parthenstein the administrative community Naunhof.

Geography

Location

Naunhof located 20 km south-east of Leipzig, Leipzig lowlands and is enclosed to 75 percent of the forest. By Naunhof the Parthe flows. The city is famous for its lakes ( former gravel pits ). So there is the Naunhofer lake (after the parcel " The Grille " is also called Grillensee ) and the Ammelshainer Lake (also known as Moritzsee - this name comes from the former Moritz pool, which was located at the site of the later gravel pit ).

History

A first mention of the town was 1144.

Economy

The Saxon Clinic Naunhof in Erdmannshain is a built in 1995, rehabilitation clinic for diseases of the musculoskeletal system. At the edge of the city Naunhof there are two large waterworks that supply parts of the Leipzig region with drinking water.

Traffic

Naunhof has a railway station on the railway line Borsdorf - Coswig and a motorway junction on the A 14 Since August 2006, the motorway junction Parthenaue located near Naunhof. There, the A ends 38 and met with the A 14

Train

In Naunhof there is a primary and a secondary school and a Free School. The leisure and education center Grillensee is used by schools for school trips.
