Naval crown

The ship crown ( naval crown ) is a special feature on the English coat of arms.

On the headband so-called ship beaks (Bug ) and sails are attached. In the middle of the crown stern of a sailing ship is simulated.

Is visible between two billowing sails to the mast quite a nose cone and right and left only narrow ship beaks. The entire crown has four sails alternating between four peaks.

In English heraldry this crown takes over the function of the spread in Germany mural crown in the Stadtheraldik. Example is the Crown Colony of Hong Kong to the British period.

The ship Krone Corona Navalis was also a distinction of the Roman military.
