Navapolatsk

Nawapolazk or Novopolotsk (White Russian Наваполацк, Russian Новополоцк / Novopolotsk ) is an administratively independent satellite town in the immediate vicinity of the smaller northern Belarusian city Polotsk ( Belarusian Полацк ). Nawapolazk is the Wizebskaja Woblasz and has about 100,000 inhabitants.

History

When building new factories emphasis was placed that they are far enough away from the town of Polotsk, so that the city would remain unmolested by exhaust gases. Later they decided, but still allow some residential buildings adjacent to the industrial plants. In addition to the new housing estate arose a fire station, a hospital and a school.
