Navasota is a city in Grimes County in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was according to the census of 2000 6789.

In 2005, the state of Texas has awarded the city in honor of her late son and bluesman Mance Lipscomb titled "The Blues Capital of Texas ". In Navasota jazz trumpeter Milt Larkin was born in 1910.
