Naveen Patnaik

Naveen Patnaik ( born October 16, 1946 in Cuttack, Orissa ) is an Indian politician and writer.

Life

His parents are the politicians Biju Patnaik and Gyan Patnia. His sister is the writer Gita Mehta. Patnaik studied at the University of Delhi. After the death of his father, he began to get involved politically in 1997 and was elected to the Lok Sabha in the year, Biju Janata Dal as a member of which was founded by his father. Since 2001, Patnaik is the Chief Minister of Odisha. He is Chairman of the predominantly -present in Odisha Biju Janata Dal.

In addition to his political activities, he has worked as a writer. He has published three books.
