Navoiy Province

The Navoi Province ( Uzbek: Alisher Navoi Viloyati, Cyrillic Навоий вилояти; Russian Навоийская область / Nawoijskaja Oblast ) is a Viloyat ( province ) in central Uzbekistan. It borders with Kazakhstan, Samarqand and Bukhara to the provinces, as well as the autonomous republic of Karakalpakstan. The area of ​​the province is 110,800 km ², and the province is thus, with the exception of the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan, the largest province of Uzbekistan. However, the Kyzyl Kum Desert takes up a large part of the area and so the population density is very low. Approximately 932 793 people live in the province of Navoi, of which about 60 % to the country.

The climate is characterized continental. Cold winters and dry, hot summers alternate.

Management

The Navoi province is divided into 8 administrative districts. The cities of Navoi, Zarafshan and Uchquduq are cycle-free. The capital is Navoi with 155 589 inhabitants ( 2008). Other well-known towns are Qiziltepa and Nurota.

Natural resources and economic

Many minerals can be found in the Province of Navoi, such as natural gas, oil, precious metals and raw materials for the construction industry. The province is strongly influenced by mining, metallurgy and chemical industry dependent. The gold mines and Navoi and Zarafshan Metallverhüttungskomplexe produce with the purest gold in the world. The company NavoiyAzot is the largest mineral fertilizer producer in Uzbekistan.

Agriculture is practiced in the form of cotton growing and sheep breeding. Approximately 90 % of the area of the province would be potentially fruitful, but there is a lack of water for irrigation.
