Navy Unit Commendation

The Navy Unit Commendation is awarded by the United States Navy. It is awarded to vehicles that have rendered during a combat action.

It was founded during the Second World War on December 18, 1944 by the Secretary of the Navy ( SecNav ) James V. Forrestal retroactive to December 6, 1941.

The ribbon may be awarded by the Secretary of the Navy to all ships, aircraft or units that have directly or indirectly received in combat. It also foreign armed forces to be considered.

The award is given for a particular military action, and can only be worn by people who were at this time on the vehicle or in the unit.
