Nazacara de Pacajes

Nazacara de Pacajes is a village in the department of La Paz in the highlands of South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Nazacara de Pacajes is the central place of the district ( bolivian: Municipio) Nazacara de Pacajes in the province Pacajes. Nazacara de Pacajes lies at an altitude of 3833 m on the right bank of the Río Desaguadero, 65 kilometers downstream from Lake Titicaca. At the opposite western river bank is Nazacara, central location of the Canton Nazacara in the province Ingavi, the centers of the two places are less than a kilometer apart.

Geography

Nazacara de Pacajes lies between the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Oriental and the Cordillera Central in the Andean dry climate of the Altiplano with an average annual rainfall of about 500 mm (see climate chart Nazacara ). The region has a pronounced diurnal climate where the average temperatures fluctuate more during the day than during the year.

The mean average temperature of the region is located at 9 ° C, the monthly average temperatures vary only slightly between 5 ° C in July and 10 ° C in December, the monthly rainfall range from less than 10 mm from May to August and from 100 to 125 mm in January and February.
