Nazir Ahmed, Baron Ahmed

Nazir Ahmed, Baron Ahmed ( born April 24, 1958 in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan ) is a British politician (ex - Labour ) and member of the House of Lords.

Life

Ahmed was born in Pakistan in 1958, but grew up in the UK. He has three children and two grandchildren. Ahmed lives in Rotherham.

In 1998 he was the second Muslim peer of Great Britain. Many of his political activities relate to matters relating to the Muslim community, which often brings controversy with him.

In February 2009, Ahmed was expelled from the Labour Party. Reason was a conviction for "dangerous driving", a court had awarded him complicit in a traffic accident in which one person was killed in 2007, and sentenced him to a prison sentence.
