NBA Development League
The National Basketball Association Development League, most likely NBA Development League, NBA D -League, or simply called D -League, is an officially sponsored and organized by the NBA basketball organization, whose purpose is, in their game Operation with " farm team," junior - replacement players to enter and use of time, so that the temporary or permanent can change to the squad of clubs in the NBA. 2012 almost a quarter of all NBA professionals had already played at least once in a D- League team.
History
The League began as the National Basketball Development League ( NBDL ) its gaming operations in the 2001 /2002 eight franchises, all of which were located in the southeastern United States. Players assignment
Players of the D -League sign contracts with the clubs, but with the league itself, the squad of a D -League team consists of twelve players, ten ( or less ) of D- League players and two ( or more) NBA professionals. The team therefore consists of players from the previous season, players who were selected for the D -League Draft, allocated players (players are assigned to a team, to which they have a local connection. Example players from the University of Texas are the Austin Toros allocated. ), NBA players and a player who could convince at a local excretion. Each NBA team can its associated D -League team assign two rookies or players in the NBA second year. If more assigned, the team must reduce the number of D -League players, so the maximum size of the squad remains of twelve players. Records
- Morris Almond presented on 30 January 2008 to the D -League points record. When 102:87 win of his Utah Flash against the Bakersfield Jam, he scored 53 points. He surpassed his own record of 51 points, set up on 21 December 2007 in the game against the Austin Toros.
- The NBA D- League record for rebounds in a game was set up on 9 December 2007 by Rod Benson of the Dakota Wizards with 28 rebounds in the game against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He surpassed the previous record so that (26 rebounds ) by Rodney bias of 24 March 2005.
- March 31, 2007 at 145:122 victory over the Colorado 14ers put the Sioux Falls Skyforce a D - League record for points in a game (145). In addition, the Skyforce also broke the record for points in the second half (83). In this game achieved both Stephen Graham (Sioux Falls) as well as from wafer ( Colorado) 43 points each.
