NBA Rookie of the Year Award

The NBA Rookie of the Year Award is an award of the National Basketball Association (NBA ) for the best newcomer (English: rookie ), ie player in his first NBA season, the league in the regular season.

The NBA Rookie of the Year Award has been awarded since the 1947/48 season. The corresponding trophy is named after Edward Gottlieb, a founding father of the NBA and longtime owner of the Philadelphia Warriors.
