NBC Nightly News

NBC Nightly News is the main evening news program of the U.S. channel NBC. In Europe, it is to be received daily at 0.30 clock on the CNBC. It is the most popular among U.S. newscasts.

Moderators

As was 1970, the Huntley - Brinkley Report in NBC Nightly News renamed, were the first presenters John Chancellor, David Brinkley and Frank McGee. 1971 McGee left the show since he took over The Today Show and as Chancellor and Brinkley were the moderator team until 1982. Thereafter, it was moderated by 2004 by Tom Brokaw. Since then, she moderated Brian Williams.

Since 1971 there are at the NBC Nightly News a weekend edition with their own moderators. Weekend presenters were since then:

  • Chris Wallace ( Sundays, 1982-1984, 1986-1987)
  • Bob Jamieson ( Saturdays, 1984-1987)
  • Garrick Utley ( Sundays, 1987-1990, Saturdays 1990-1993)
  • Maria Shriver ( Saturdays, 1989-1990; Sundays, 1990-1993)
  • Brian Williams (weekends, 1993-1999)
  • John Seigenthaler ( weekend, from 1999 to 2007 )

Since 2007, Lester Holt is Anchorman the weekend edition. Where major events and top news the weekend edition is however also moderated by Brain Williams.
