nCube (satellite)

NCube were two satellite Norwegian students. Due to problems when swinging on the orbit and a false start, none of the two satellites could begin its work. The first ( nCube -2) was launched on 27 October 2005 with a Russian Kosmos- 3M rocket ( COSPAR designation 2005 - 043H ), the second ( nCube -1) was on 26 July 2006 at the false start a Dnepr rocket lost. Both were built to the CubeSat standard for small satellites and had the shape of a cube with an edge length of 10 centimeters.

The main objective of nCube project was the promotion of students and universities in the field of space technology. For this purpose, the satellite should receive AIS signals from ships and reindeer and send via amateur radio to Earth. The satellites were equipped with digipeaters for radio amateurs.
