ND Mura 05

Nogometno Društvo Mura 05, also known as ND Mura Mura Murska Sobota or, was a Slovenian football club from the city of Murska Sobota. Mura played in the first Slovenian Football League. The traditional club was next to NK Maribor and Olimpija Ljubljana as a club with the largest following in Slovenia.

History

The club in 1924 as NK Mura was founded. After a successful period in the 1990s with a Cup win and two runner-up of the club was placed in the newly established premier league 1991.

The greatest success of the association at the national level was winning the Slovenian Cup in season 1994/95, 1993/94 Mura was second. Best place in the Slovenian championship was in 1993/94 and 1997/ 98 of the second rank. So Mura remained until 2005 continuously in the highest league until you had to sign up for a relegation bankruptcy in 2005.

The successor club ND Mura 05 Founded in 2005, succeeded in 2011 again to return to the first division. In the season 2011/12 Mura qualified third in Slovenian championship for the UEFA Europa League 2012/13, where the club met in the first qualifying round FK Baku. In the first leg was a goalless draw away to be fought in Baku. In the return match Mura made ​​clear with a 2-0 win to progress to the next round. After the 2nd and 3rd round CSKA Sofia and also Arsenal Kiev were turned off, Mura only lost in the playoffs to the big favorites Lazio. 2012/13, the club was able to save with the ninth place in the play-offs, as Mura but got no license for the coming season, you had to descend without the play-offs and sign shortly after bankruptcy.
