Ndamukong Suh

Ndamukong Suh ( born January 6, 1987 in Portland, Oregon) is an American professional American football player at the position of the defensive tackles. He plays for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League ( NFL).

Career

College

Suh played from 2005 to 2009 for the College of the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. In his first game for the Cornhuskers against Wake Forrest Suh was injured in a tackle so hard on the knee that he had injured fit the rest of the season.

In his second year Suh was all 14 games for the Cornhuskers play, but only as a substitute. In 2007, Suh regular player on his team and was able to finish the season with 39 tackles.

His sporting breakthrough at college he had in his third year in 2008. He started in all games and finished the season with 76 tackles, 19 of which for space loss of the enemy ensured, 7.5 sack and two interceptions, both of which he to touchdowns generic in the end zone could wear! He also had a touchdown reception as he ran aground fullback on offense. But his best year at college he had in 2009. Suh played in the 2009 Holiday Bowl against the Arizona Wildcats and helped decisively that they could win the game with 33:0. It should be the first shutout in the 32- year history of the Holiday Bowl.

Suh was named the Associated Press National Player of the Year and was a finalist to win the Heisman Trophy, the best college player of the year, but he could not ultimately win. In addition, he was Defensive Player of the Year in the Big 12 Conference and was considered by many experts to be the first pick in the Draft. This had the St. Louis Rams and many were counting the Suh is drafted by the Rams. However, they opted for quarterback Sam Bradford, the Heisman Trophy winner in 2008. Consequently, the Detroit Lions secured his services by they picked him second. Suh signed a five - year contract with the Lions.

NFL

Suh was able to achieve a sack in his first game in the National Football League in which he brought the quarterback of the Chicago Bears, Jay Cutler to the ground. Suh is the first rookie since Barry Sanders (then played for the Lions ) who was elected in his first year in the Pro Bowl. His ten Sacks are the second most by a defensive tackle in his first year in the NFL. Most defensive tackle Dana Stubblefield scored 1993 for the San Francisco 49ers, for whom he recorded 10.5 sack. His participation in the Pro Bowl, however, Suh said in favor of a shoulder operation.

Private

Suh's father is from Cameroon, he was temporarily in Germany amateur footballer and studied mechanical engineering. Suh's mother is from Jamaica. Suh has three siblings. His older sister, Odette Lennon Ngum Suh, played football in midfield and plays for the women's national team of Cameroon.
