Neal McCoy

Neal McCoy ( born July 30, 1963 as Hubert Neal McGaughey in Jacksonville, Texas) is an American country singer.

Neal comes from an Irish- Filipino family. After the divorce of his parents, his mother married again ( years later, Neal took the surname of his new father - McCoy - an). Already in his early childhood he showed a keen interest in all types and forms of music. He seized every opportunity to sing and make music.

After graduation, he hoofed it through clubs and dance halls. After winning a talent contest, he decided to become a professional musician. In one of his performances, the country singer Janie Fricke became aware of him who recommended him to Charley Pride. Neal was hired for the tour - opening act of the big stars. He worked for seven years with Charley Pride.

Career as Neal McCoy

In 1987 he received a recording contract with a small Nashville label. A number of moderately successful singles were produced. In 1990 he moved as Neal McCoy to the Atlantic label. His breakthrough came four years later, as the extracted from the eponymous album Single No Doubt About It reached number one on the country charts. Also, a second song from this album, Wink, managed at the top of the charts. The album itself sold over a million copies and certified platinum.

Even McCoy's next releases were successful if no more top rankings were achieved. Left after the sales figures until the end of the decade. He focused more and more on his tours, which attracted wide public interest, thanks to its vibrant appearance.
