Neasden tube station

Neasden is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Brent. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 3 at the Neasden Lane. The station served by the Jubilee Line station was used in 2011 of 2.70 million passengers. About half a mile further west is one of the service workshops of the Metropolitan Line.

The opening of the station took place on August 2, 1880 by the Metropolitan Railway ( predecessor company of the Metropolitan Line). In the beginning was the station Kingsbury and Neasden; it was renamed on 1 January 1910 in Neasden and Kingsbury and finally on 1 January 1932 in Neasden, to prevent any confusion with the station Kingsbury.

As of November 20, 1939 held here also trains the Bakerloo Line, which took over the traffic on the Stanmore branch route. However, the parallel transport only lasted a few months. To enable acceleration and unbundling, the Metropolitan Line trains pass since December 7, 1940, this station without stopping. On 1 May 1979, the newly opened Jubilee Line took over the traffic of the Bakerloo Line.
