Nebahat Albayrak

Nebahat Albayrak ( born April 10, 1968 in Şarkışla ) is a Dutch former politician of Turkish origin. From 2007 to 2010 she was Secretary of State of Justice in the Cabinet Balkenende IV

Training

In 1993, she earned a degree in International and European Law at Leiden University. As part of its financial statements they also attended lectures at the University of Ankara, the Institut d' Études Françaises, as well as in Paris, the Institut d' Etudes Politiques.

Policy

Albayrak from 1998 to 2007 Member of the Second Chamber of the States General for the PvdA ( Partij van de Arbeid ). On 22 February 2007 she was employed as a Secretary of State for Justice in the fourth cabinet of Prime Minister Balkenende. You and Ahmed Aboutaleb were the first Muslims in a Dutch cabinet. The right-wing Partij voor de Vrijheid (PVV ) tried to stop the inauguration of Albayrak and of Aboutaleb. The party also tried the idea to introduce a no-confidence vote in parliament, against all MPs and politicians of the executive branch who have dual citizenship with the assertion that these politicians gave the impression of a lack of loyalty to the state. Albayrak has a Turkish and the Dutch passport. The application was rejected by the board because it was not supported by any party other than the PVV. Since May 12, 2010, it is again a member of the Second Chamber. On September 20, 2012, she adopted as a Member of Parliament.
