Ned O'Sullivan

Ned O'Sullivan is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician and senator in Seanad Éireann since 2007.

O'Sullivan attended the University College Dublin and St Patrick's College of Education in Drumcondra. In connection he worked as a teacher in primary and secondary education in Dublin, in County Offaly and County Kerry before finally the family business, a men's clothing store in Listowel, took over.

O'Sullivan came from a family with close ties to Fianna Fáil. In 1985 he was elected to the Listowel Town Council. In 1991 he was elected to Kerry County Council. Over the years, he was several times chairman of Listowel Town Council, and in 2004 Chairman of Kerry County Council. In 2007, O'Sullivan was elected to the Seanad Éireann. With his election to the Senate, he resigned from his local mandates.

O'Sullivan is married and has three sons. He is a cousin of politician Kit Ahern.
