Ned Zelić

Nedijeljko " Ned " Zelic ( born July 4, 1971 in Sydney ) is an Australian former football player of Croatian descent.

Career as a club player

As a teenager Zelic for Sydney Olympic, Sydney Croatia and the Australian Institute of Sport played. At the beginning of the season 1992/93 he moved to Borussia Dortmund. After three years he went to England to Queens Park Rangers. After a year he returned to Germany to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he again remained only one year. After one and a half years at Auxerre, he moved to TSV 1860 Munich. For the Sixties he was active all four years. Kyoto Sanga and Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan and Wacker Tirol in Austria were the next stops the globetrotter. Even with these clubs he played only for a relatively short time. After a season in the home at the Newcastle United Jets he came back to Europe; this time on the Dutch side Helmond Sport. After only half a year, he moved to Dinamo Tbilisi, where he end his career.

Overall, the defensive player came 160 times in the Bundesliga for use, scoring five goals. In Austria's first league 22 times he was on the court.

Career in the national team

Zelic who owns both the Croatian and Australian citizenship, played 40 times for Australia, scoring five goals.
