Nedda Casei

Nedda Casei (* 1935 in Baltimore) is a former American mezzo-soprano.

Life

She studied voice with William P. Herman, Vittorio Piccinini and Loretta Corelli and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Her operatic debut was in 1960 at the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels. In the same year she also sang for the first time at La Scala.

Casei worked 21 years at the Metropolitan Opera, but also in Europe and was particularly known for her interpretations of Mozart 's works.
