Nederlandse Omroep Stichting

The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting ( NOS / dt: Dutch Broadcasting Foundation ) is a broadcaster within the Publieke Omroep, the system of public broadcasting in the Netherlands. NOS was formerly the name of the Publieke Omroep itself

The NOS is the representative authorized by the Dutch government public supplier for the latest news, sports, broadcasts from Parliament, programs on current events and the weather on the TV stations, Nederland 1, Nederland 2 and Nederland 3 and the Radio 1 of Publieke Omroeps. The NOS is not an independent television or radio stations.

In addition, NOS is also responsible for the messages of the website and the teletext of Publieke Omroep and also produces the page Nos.nl. The NOS also produces the digital transmitter Journaal 24 of the Internet offer Nederland 4 Various programs such as the messages are also broadcast via satellite as part of the Belgian-Dutch channel BVN.

Engineers from the NOS broadcasting also developed a main microphone system for recording sound in Äquivalenzstereofonie (mixed stereophonic ) for stereo loudspeaker reproduction, which was known as the NOS stereo system.

The Dutch Foreign Service Radio Nederland Wereldomroep ( RNW ) does not belong to NOS. It is supported by the Dutch government. Since 2010, however, the cooperation between RNW and the domestic broadcasting NOS has been strengthened.
