Neftyanik Leninogorsk

Neftjanik Leninogorsk (Russian Нефтяник Лениногорск ) was a Russian ice hockey club from Leninogorsk, the 1961-2009 spent in the period of its existence several seasons in the second Soviet and Russian second division.

History

The club was founded in 1961. In Soviet times Neftjanik Leninogorsk was one of the best teams from Tatarstan and was repeatedly win the regional championship. They also took part in the match operation of the second and third Soviet division. In the 1998/99 season the team entered the championship of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, which was held parallel to the sub-prime Wysschaja League due to discrepancies. After the championship of the Association was dissolved the following year, following an agreement with the organizers of the Wysschaja League again, Neftjanik Leninogorsk was an integral part of that very Wysschaja league in which the club from 1999 to 2009 took. In summer 2009, the club was disbanded due to financial problems.
