Nehren, Rhineland-Palatinate

Nehren is a wine village on the Moselle River in Cochem- Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. The municipality belongs to the municipality of Cochem. Nehren is a nationally recognized tourist.

Geography

The place is located at the southern end of a broad vineyard back behind a oxbow lake of the Moselle.

History

The place was first mentioned in the year 634, and grew out of the Roman villa Nogeria. He was since 1815 part of the Prussian Rhine Province. Since 1946 it belongs to the state of Rhineland -Palatinate.

The local council in Nehren consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
