Neil Borwick

Neil Borwick ( born September 15, 1967 in Redcliffe, Queensland ) is an Australian former tennis player.

Life

Borwick 1987 professional tennis player. As a lucky loser he was in 1988 the first round of the Grand Prix tournament in Bristol. As a result, he played mainly on the ATP Challenger Tour and was able to claim his first individual title in August 1989 in Kuala Lumpur. In the same year, he reached two more singles final on the Challenger tour, but where he lost his finals. Only in 1994 he won his second and last single title at the same time. He was more successful as a doubles player. Throughout his career, he was able to win six tournament victories on the Challenger Tour and a tournament victory at the ATP World Tour. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1993 with position 104 in single and in 1992 with position 60 in doubles.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the second round of the Australian Open in 1990 and 1993, as well as the second round of the U.S. Open in 1993 with a victory over Ivan Lendl. In the doubles competition, he reached in 1992 on the side of Simon Youl the second round of Wimbledon and the quarterfinals of the Australian Open and the U.S. Open. His best result was a second-round in mixed participation at Wimbledon in 1989.
