Neil Dawson

Neil Dawson ( born 1948 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is a New Zealand sculptor.

Life and work

Neil Dawson was from 1966 to 1969 in training as a sculpture with Tom Taylor and Eric Doudney at the School of Art of the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. Then he trained from 1970 to 1973 at the Victoria College of Art in Melbourne, Australia on. From 1975 to 1983 he was a lecturer at Christchurch Polytechnic. In 1978 he had his first exhibition at the Brook Gifford Art Gallery in Christchurch and his first installation Seascape took place before the Robert McDougall Art Gallery.
