Neil McCann
Neil Docherty McCann ( born November 8, 1974 in Greenock, Scotland ) is a former Scottish footballer.
Career
By 1993, McCann played in the youth team of FC Dundee. Then he made his debut in the first team for which he completed 79 second division games in the following three years. In 1996 he moved to the premier league Heart of Midlothian, with which he won the Scottish Cup in 1998. During the winter break of the 1998/99 season McCann was committed for 3 million euros from the giants Glasgow Rangers. From his time at Glasgow originate most of his successes. He was three times champion (1999, 2000, 2003 ), four times Cup winner (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003) and two League Cup Winners (2002, 2003). Unforgettable are his two goals on 2 May 1999 against arch-rivals Celtic with which the championship was sealed in a direct comparison. In August 2003, he spent about 2 million euros for English Premier League club FC Southampton. Due to several injuries but it was not possible for him to establish himself as a regular player. 2005 Southampton rose in a heart-stopping off in the second division. During the winter break of the 2005/06 season, his contract was canceled by mutual consent and McCann returned to his former club Heart of Midlothian, where he was able to celebrate another Scottish championship in his career in 2006. On 25 August 2007, he broke the league game against Celtic Glasgow the tibia and fibula. His comeback in the Scottish Premier League, he was on 26 January 2008, when he 's 1-0 - came off the bench in Aberdeen victory in the 85th minute for Saulius Mikoliunas. For the season 2008/ 09 he moved to league rivals FC Falkirk. At the beginning of the season 2009/10 the contract was terminated by mutual consent.

His debut for Scotland made Neil McCann on 5 September 1998, when he appeared as a substitute in the match against Lithuania (0-0 ) for Ally McCoist. His first game from the beginning he made against the Czech Republic on 31 March 1999. Until 2005, he played a total of 26 international matches, scoring 3 goals.
