Neil Murray (British musician)

Philip Neil Murray ( born August 27, 1950 in Edinburgh, Scotland) is a Scottish rock and pop musicians. For years he was the bassist of the rock bands Whitesnake and Black Sabbath.

He also in 1994 with keyboard player Spike Edney Queens Live - founded the SAS Band, a cover band that performs live all over Europe.

Was much more successful and Murray as a session and studio musician. Since the early 1990s, Murray works primarily as a freelance musician. Colosseum II

Whitesnake

Neil Murray was the beginning of Whitesnake in the year 1978 to 1987 the bassist of the band.

Black Sabbath

In the years 1989-1991 and 1994-1997 he was with Cozy Powell band member of the band Black Sabbath. Cozy Powell then brought the bass player Murray with one in the band. The SAS Band currently still occurs regularly, but in changing cast - only Jamie Moses and Chris Thompson are next Edney to the root formation. However, Neil Murray takes part every now and then.

Peter Green 's Splinter Group

In the years 1997 to 1998 Neil was with Cozy Powell and Spike Edney to line up the Splinter Group. In 1998, he was replaced by Pete Stroud.

Michael Schenker Group

Neil Murray played on the latest album by the Michael Schenker Group Bass, which was released in April 2008. 2010 Neil Murray will play the bass on the 30th Anniversary Tour at MSG.

Queen

In the years since 2000, Neil Murray played in the backing band with the two Queen musicians Brian May and Roger Taylor. There, Neil Murray scored again on its SAS and Brian May bandmates Jamie Moses and Spike Edney. They played on the Queen's Jubilee Concert in 2002 at Buckingham Palace, a concert in front of 100,000 people in Amsterdam to mark the Queen's Days and the concert Pavarotti and Friends of Luciano Pavarotti in Modena, Italy.
