Nekemte (also Nek'emte, Lekemt ) is a town in the region of Oromia in Ethiopia, 220 kilometers west of Addis Ababa.

Until 1994 it was the capital of the former province Wolega. For the year 2006, a population of 80 685 indicated ( Update). The village is located at 2,088 m altitude. In the town there is a museum about the Wollega - Oroma culture.
