Nelson County (North Dakota)

Nelson County is a county located in the state of North Dakota in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Lakota.

Geography

The County is located in the central northeastern North Dakota and has an area of ​​2613 square kilometers, of which 70 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Walsh County, Grand Forks County, Steele County, Griggs County, Eddy County, Benson County and Ramsey County.

History

Nelson County was formed in 1883. It was named after Nelson E. Nelson, an early politicians and legislators of the Dakota Territory.
